Introduction to Advice and Response

The Advice and Response Team is comprised of three main areas:

  • Safeguarding, Hate and Gender-Based Violence
  • Student Conduct and Discipline
  • Student Wellbeing

We provide holistic, trauma-informed support to all students involved in an incident, and guidance for colleagues supporting students experiencing a range of complex and challenging circumstances.  This may include students who are disengaged, reporting something they have experienced (or being subject to a report) through to students who may need to be seen through support to study.

The Conduct and Discipline Team oversee formal disciplinary processes, such as through implementing precautionary measures, investigating alleged misconduct and arranging disciplinary panels.  They're involved in a variety of casework, ranging in seriousness, but they aren't involved in every case that arises at the University.

If you have questions that aren't answered on these pages, or have suggestions for how we might expand these pages, please get in touch with our team by email and we will aim to respond within three working days.
