The University is ranked as one of Stonewall's top 100 employers, currently 30th out of 268 submissions, demonstrating our commitment to LGBT+ workplace inclusion.  Stonewall is an LGBTQ+ organisation which campaigns for equity and change.

We are currently ranked as one of Stonewall's Top 100 Employers in its Workplace Equality Index, a powerful benchmarking tool used by employers to assess their achievements and progress on LGBT equality in the workplace, as well as their wider work in the community and on service provision.

The index measures how 'LGBT+ inclusive' organisations are and looks at different areas such as engagement, career development, senior leadership engagement, supply chain networks and inclusion of LGBT+ staff in documentation.

Up to 500 organisations take part in the annual Index, in which we have ranked in the top 100 for eight consecutive years.

We have been involved since 2012 and are currently ranked 30th with a Gold status award, demonstrating our commitment to LGBT+ workplace inclusion. We are awaiting our latest result from the application submitted in November 2023.
