Peter Clayton announced as interim Vice-President of the University

Professor Peter Clayton has just been announced as interim Vice-President of the University and Dean of Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. 

Professor Peter Clayton, Head of the School of Medical Sciences (SMS), will become interim Vice-President of the University and Dean of FBMH from 1st August while an international search takes place to fill the position on a substantive basis. Interim arrangements for the leadership of SMS will be communicated in due course.

A graduate of this University, Peter has worked here for 25 years. He is Professor of Child Health and Paediatric Endocrinology, and an honorary consultant at both the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and The Christie Hospital. Prior to his appointment as Head of School when the new Faculty was formed in 2016, he was Director of the Institute of Human Development.
