Dan Perry to drive business delivery of the Student Lifecycle Project

Dan Perry

Dan Perry has been appointed as Director of Student Lifecycle Business-led Projects.

Dan will join the University in June to lead the business delivery of the Student Lifecycle Project (SLP) within the Directorate for the Student Experience. The SLP is being delivered through collaboration between the Directorate for the Student Experience and IT Services, and Dan will work in partnership with the SLP Programme Director, Steve Dover.

This new role, leading the business delivery of the SLP is an important part of our ambitious Manchester 2020 agenda. The SLP is a major change project which will alter the way we engage with students from the moment they first contact us until the time that they leave. It will also contribute to the simplification and standardisation of our business processes to support students.

Dan is currently Director of Product and Marketing for Jisc, a leading provider of digital solutions for UK education and research.

Dan said: “I am excited to be joining a leading international university, to lead the business delivery of SLP. I am looking forward to bringing the experience I have gained at Jisc to this transformation project and particularly to working in partnership with colleagues to make a real difference in the experience of both students and staff.”

Prior to joining Jisc, Dan has worked for a variety of organisations including Janet (UK), Manchester Business School Worldwide and the Institute for Financial Management. An Alumnus from Alliance Manchester Business School, having achieved an MBA, Dan has expertise in product management, digital transformation and managing teams and budgets for a variety of functions such as IT, web, digital, marketing.

Dan will report to Dr Tim Westlake, Director of the Directorate for Student Experience. Tim says: “Dan has an impressive skill set coupled with relevant experience from within and outside the HE sector. We have found someone to lead this project who possesses strategic and operational expertise, a technical background, in addition to experience of leading change projects. I am delighted that Dan is joining the University.”
