Silly sports and cake bonanza raises funds for Comic Relief

28 Mar 2017

The Whitworth Hall hosted competitive PSS staff taking part in egg and spoon, ping pong, paper islands and much more

Red Nose Day

Last Friday the Whitworth Hall played host to an assortment of silly sports as PSS staff raised funds for Red Nose Day 2017.

Intrepid staff from Residences, Alumni Relations, Capital Projects, Media Services, Estates Health and Safety, Faculty Estates and Design Services Unit boldly (and perhaps a little overly competitively) took part.

The Whitworth Hall, more frequently used for notable ceremonies, conferences and formal dinners adapted admirably to hosting this silly sports event which included rounds such as Ping-Pong, Egg and Spoon, Paper Islands and jumping with a balloon between your legs.

Organised by the Directorate of Estates and Facilities and supported by Sport Manchester, the event raised over £226 for Comic Relief. The Directorate of Estates and Facilities would like to say a massive thank you to all involved in this event.

Elsewhere, the Central Research Office in the Christie Building raised £250 from their bake sale, tombola and raffle.  They would also like to thank everyone for their support.
