Introduction of login changes delayed

20 Jun 2017

Changes to the way we login (to introduce 2-factor authentication) have been delayed until after Start of Year 2017.

Come fly with us on your cyber journey

Changes to the way all staff and postgraduate research students login have been delayed until after Start of Year 2017. The delay is to resolve an issue with the new virtual private network (VPN) for Linux users and allow more time for testing, which will help deliver the best user experience for everyone.

The changes include the introduction of a new virtual private network (VPN) called GlobalProtect, and a 2-factor authentication service, provided by a company called Duo.

Thank you to those of you that have already registered with Duo for the new 2-factor authentication service – you are one step ahead and won’t need to register again.

Thank you also to all of the Early Adopters - your feedback continues to be welcome through the Cyber Security Programme email address: CSP@manchester.ac.uk. We will send further communications to ask for help with Linux testing soon. Please do continue to report any issues with Mac and Windows connections.
