Sandra shares her career story on Science Council blog

27 Jun 2017

Last year, Senior Research Technician Sandra Taylor was asked to become a Registrant Champion

Sandra Taylor

Sandra is currently based within SYNBIOCHEM in the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology.

Last year, she was asked by the Science Council to become a Registrant Champion. As part of this new role, she has written a blog post on her career development.

Sandra said: "I wanted to share my story to show that there are alternative career paths into science, and to raise awareness of the lifelong learning that support staff undertake.

"Registration is a great way to evidence the hard work and professionalism that we bring to our roles. It can also turn up new opportunities that we were perhaps not aware of.

"I also work closely with the new TE@M Technical Excellence at Manchester network to help support new registrants, one of whom received her certificate from the Science Council at last year's TE@M launch event.

"I fully support the aims of TE@M to help highlight the diverse skills that our technical staff bring to enhance the overall excellence of our University, which is a great place to work."

TE@M can be contacted at technical.excellence@manchester.ac.uk

If anyone needs help with their registration application, Sandra is happy to assist and can be contacted by email sandra.taylor@manchester.ac.uk.
