NGI hosts UK Pavilion fact-finding mission

Commissioner leading UK’s representation at international energy expo visited the National Graphene Institute

Charles Hendry, Commissioner for the UK Pavilion at the Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan also met Professor Martin Schröder, Vice-President and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The University is an official sponsor of the UK Pavilion and will use this platform to demonstrating its world-leading beacon research in energy and advanced materials. 

Charles Hendry said: “The UK will be participating at the Astana Expo 2017 to showcase the best of British innovation and culture. It is part of a three-month long programme to support UK trade in the region. 

“I am delighted that The University of Manchester, a world leading university, has become one of the UK Pavilion’s official supporters during the Expo.

“Through its expertise in advanced materials, energy, industrial biotech and health innovation, The University of Manchester is a great example of what makes the UK education sector so exceptional.”

The UK is participating at Astana Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan from 10 June to 10 September 2017 with an ambitious business and cultural programme.
