Publishers Palgrave Macmillan have interviewed Professor Carol Smart following the recent award of a CBE for services to the Social Sciences in the 2017 New Year's Honours list
They spoke to Professor Smart about her career in academia, the impact of the social sciences, and why they’re so important as we appear to enter a post-truth period of ‘alternative facts’.
Carol Smart CBE is Professor Emerita of Sociology in the Morgan Centre for the Study of Relationships and Personal Life at the University.
Her recent publications include Relative Strangers (with P Nordqvist) and Same Sex Marriages (with B Heaphy and A Einarsdottir).
