Lunchtime Tuesday street market - plus this week's trader spotlight

23 Mar 2018

The popular Tuesday lunchtime market is on campus at Humanities Bridgeford Street

Mama Sue's

Levenshulme Market runs every Tuesday from 11.30am to 2.30pm. The market has rustled up lots of exciting new traders, while bringing back some of your favourites. Foodie Tuesdays are back!

This week's trader spotlight - Mama Sue's

Bringing a taste of the Deep South, Mama Sue's will be at our market for the first time on 27 March.

Katie from Mama Sue's says: "We cook up nice and spicy dishes with a Deep South influence, including chicken and chorizo jambalaya, sweet potato and okra gumbo and 'greens and beans'. We also do smaller dishes such as quesadillas and po'boys.

"We've always got something for vegans and veggies, including sweet stuff like vegan ginger snaps and dark chocolate orange brownie.

"We haven't traded at the university before but are really excited to be in a new space for us, among loads of adventurous foodies!"

If you like the sound of what's on offer from Mama Sue's or any of the other traders, come along and try some treats!

About Levenshulme Market

The chance to run regular weekly markets and a night market at our University marks further growth for Levenshulme Market, which was launched as a social enterprise in 2013 with a monthly market on the train station car park in Levenshulme. In 2014 the market started operating weekly on Saturdays and in 2015, was revealed as one of just three finalists for Best Food Market in the BBC’s Food and Farming Awards.
