As we welcome our new Registrar and Chief Operating Officer (RSCOO) Patrick Hackett, some of you may have noticed he shares his name with another staff member

The Patrick Hackett some of us may be more familiar with is a Research Strategy Coordinator (RSC) within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Patrick joined the University in 2004, after studying for his undergraduate degree at UMIST. He left to work in financial services and online retail in 2009 before returning to the University in 2013.

The two Patricks met over coffee at Christie's Bistro to talk about where they’re originally from, their careers so far, family and holidays and found they share a common interest in Irish rugby.
