University of Manchester Worldwide announces new online and blended learning courses

University of Manchester Worldwide

University of Manchester Worldwide (UMW) has just announced that further courses will be added to the University’s expanding portfolio of online and blended learning courses by 2019/20.

The Faculty of Humanities are developing an MSc Financial Management and Master’s courses in Real Estate and Educational Leadership in Practice set to launch next year.

The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health will also work with UMW to launch a range of new online and blended learning Postgraduate Certificate courses over the next three years. The exciting portfolio of PGCerts will employ a stackable approach to course design. The first of these to launch next year is Clinical Bioinformatics (PGCert). This Certificate builds on the Faculty’s success in establishing itself as the leading NHS provider of education and training in Genomics and Clinical Bioinformatics.

A variety of courses are currently running through UMW which range from Master’s courses in Healthcare Ethics and Law to an MSc in Electrical Power Systems Engineering.

UMW was established in August 2017 to expand the University’s online and blended learning offer.

With the ethos 'no barriers, no boundaries', UMW aims to open up access to a University of Manchester education anytime, anywhere in the world.

Professor Elaine Ferneley, Director of UMW, said: ‘We’re really excited to be working with colleagues across all Faculties in the coming months to take a range of courses into the digital space and to create media rich, engaging course materials to meet the needs and expectations of today’s digitally native students.

’As the University begins to review its vision for the future, this is a great time for us to radically rethink our approach to delivering education. UMW presents the opportunity for students to benefit from a University of Manchester education wherever they live and work.’

UMW’s expert team offers guidance and support services to colleagues considering the development of their course from market insight, course design and development through to delivery and beyond.  The UMW team will identify future opportunities to work with Schools and Faculties to further expand the University’s digital, blended and flexible learning offer.  To contact the team please email:
