Course on supporting staff with disabilities

If you are managing a member of staff with a disability or would like to know more about support for staff with disabilities, register for this session

The aim of the session is for you to:

Have a solid understanding of disability equality and what it means in terms of managing and recruiting disabled staff
Be confident to interact with disabled employees and support them
Identify and address equality issues affecting disabled staff and support them effectively
Be able to understand the issues that disabled people encounter and the range of needs of disabled employees
Understand the Equality Act and your obligations as an employer
Appreciate the real benefit that supporting and employing disabled staff people can have on your workplace
Have gained knowledge of the type of support available for the disabled staff
Understand what reasonable adjustments can be made in the workplace to maximise the potential of disabled employees
Be confident about managing disabled colleagues
Know where to go for more detailed help or advice

The session is offered by Disability Advisory and Support Services on various dates and lasts approximately two and a half hours.
