Still time to identify, own and classify information in your office

Files

Following a call to review the information that is stored within the University ahead of new data protection laws coming in next year, Information Governance Guardians have been identified to help identify, own and classify information on a new online Information Asset Register.

The register has been launched to provide a top down human-based assessment of information the University processes, its purpose, whether data and information are highly restricted and/or critical and where information flows, both within the University and externally.

Information Governance Officers have now met with each faculty, PSS and DSE to assess their level of GDPR* compliance and the Information Governance team continues to be available for assistance and clarification. In addition, a new project manager, Alan Greenaway, has joined the team and will be focusing on the University’s IT requirements for GDPR compliance, which applies from May 2018.
