One minute’s silence for victims of Manchester bombing

25 May 2017

University staff may wish to remember those affected by the attack, at 11am today

The University of Manchester

Manchester and the nation will fall silent at 11am today (Thursday, 25 May) to remember the 22 people killed in the Manchester Arena bombing.

University staff who wish to observe the silence can do so in any way they wish. There are also spaces where colleagues can gather, including The Quad outside the John Owens Building, the space outside University Place, the grass at the rear of Alan Gilbert Commons, Granby Row and in the garden between the Pariser Building and Barnes Wallis Building.

Twenty two people were killed and 120 injured, many critically, after the explosion in the foyer of the venue following an Ariana Grande concert.

The thoughts of everyone at our University are with all those affected by the devastating attack. Our University will come together to offer support during this difficult time to our students, staff and others in the wider Manchester community.
