Train as a Mediator and help us support staff and students?
Both staff and students can access the University’s Mediation Service. The service offers a safe environment where people can talk through any issues or concerns they have with a trained mediator.
Following a review of the service in 2014 we are looking to recruit 2 new mediators that have knowledge and experience of the kinds of issues face by students.
Mediators work on a voluntary basis committing to an average of 4 hours per month to the role. Further details are available in the Mediator Job Description.
In return all mediators undertake a qualification that is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and is registered with The College of Mediators. They will become part of an established network and are provided with ongoing professional development opportunities.
If you’d like to know more about becoming a mediator for the University and the training and support that is provided we are hosting an information session on Thursday 22th January 1 – 2pm (venue tbc).
Mandatory training (6 day course) will take place on the 23,24,25,26,27 & 30th March.
For more information and to register please contact Cath Prescott or Karen Scoresby email@example.com.
